Investment in the Self Economic Solvency Visa (SESV)

1)It allows the foreign national to invest the required amount into a Panama bank certificate of deposit for a minimum period of three years. The CD must be in the national’s own name. If the national is bringing dependents to Panama, the national must invest an additional $2,000USD per dependent. Any interest gained can be deposited into a Panama savings account and is not subject to income taxes.

2)It allows a foreign national to invest a minimum amount of $300,000USD into Panama real estate (the same $2,000USD per dependent applies).

3)It offers the possibility to combine the two options. The minimum $300,000USD can be divided between a CD and real estate (the same $2,000USD per dependent applies).

The PRV allows applicants to invest into government approved reforestation projects in order to obtain Panama permanent residence.
